As many of you know, the PRCL has been well represented and has won the Canadian Gay Curling Championship (CGCC) multiple times over the last several years.
Two Vancouver teams can qualify for the 2018 CGCC to be hosted in Calgary on March 30-31, 2018. Teams can consist of any PRCL members in good standing (i.e. it does not have to be your regular league team).
If you have a team interested in qualifying for the 2018 CGCC in Calgary, email us with the Subject heading: ‘CGCC Expression of interest’ and with the names of your team members no later than 6pm Friday, October 6, 2017.
The playdowns (if required) will be scheduled in November or December and final dates will depend on the number of teams that enter as well as the availability of VCC rental ice if needed. As we have an open sheet of ice on Mondays, playdown games may also be scheduled during the regular PRCL Monday night draw time pending no conflicts with participating teams regular league game schedule.
The final playdowns draw and schedule will be released in late October after the completion of the of Round 1 (for seeding purposes).
Please note that there is a maximum number of teams that will be allowed to participate in the playdowns and that a nominal playdowns entry fee of $100 per team may apply if rental ice is required. Similar to previous playdowns, the draw will be a seeded, double knockout format.
